How do i get out of this charge?
I was pulled over for not having a light on my back license plate. My license ended up being suspended and the arrest me. they searched my car and to some off my tools my portable gps and then i was hold a portable gps for my brother. my brother is stupid and stole it from someones car. so they ended up take a bunch of stuff from my car and finding out that the gps that was my brother was stolen. the ended up charging me with driving on a suspended license, burglary over 300 and having burglary tools. the tools where like flat and philips screw drivers, bolt cutters, prey bars, i had gloves for when doing repairs on my car. what should i do. but i don't steal and i can get my brother to admit to it. i never stole it and i never knew it was stolen. and they are freaking tools everyday tools not used for burglary.

- Get ready to go to jail.
- There is a legal term called "constructive possession". If something illegal is found in an area that you are in control of, you can be considered in legal possession of those items. I suppose you could have your brother come forward and offer to take all the blame, but I doubt that will happen. That may get the burglary dropped, or it may get you both charged. Even if they allowed him to take the blame, you are still looking at being in possession of stolen items and burglary tools.
- You might be out of luck... your brother would need to fess up that he stole that stuff and asked you to hold it for him or something. It looks like there is way too much evidence against you though so I doubt you would get out of it unless he stepped up and helped you out.
- Read your question back to yourself before you submit it first off, second pick a new town to live in, your current one is not working
- Build a time machine. Travel back in time and fix your broken license plate light, get your license validated, and do not come in possession of any items stolen from someone elses house. That is the only thing I can think of. The stop was valid, the arrest was valid, the search conducted incident to arrest was most likely valid so you probably want to go talk to a lawyer about this one and work out a plea. You could always get your brother to confess to the ownership of the GPS but then he would eat some charges.
- You need a good criminal defense attorney.
