How can I repair a gps?

I have a nextar gps that will trun on but stay on the loading screen. I tryed to let the internal battery run out recharged and same thing happens. I checked the website, they only accept returns on in warranty items and out of arranty site states go to a local electronics repair center. Can I fix this or ebay it I paid $300 for it.

1. I'm surprised they only take warranty items. It doesn't sound like very good customer service to me. At the very least, they should give you the name of the closest repair shop to you. If they advise taking it to a local electronics repair, do that. I honestly doubt that you would be able to repair it yourself if you don't have a good electronics background. I would certainly remove this brand from my acceptable list. Good luck.
