  1. Remember that no matter what program you get to handle your GPS, you will still need a broadband mobile PC card to connect you to the network while driving. Getting just the software will not do the trick. But, you could use Microsoft Maps or any other GPS software that will work on the IPAQ ARM processor.
  2. You will need a GPS receiver as well as the GPS software for your pocket PC device. You do not need a broadband connection as you GPS signals are available to anyone with a GPS receiver. It is a matter of personal opinion what GPS software and receiver are best. Microsoft maps for the pocket PC will not route you with turn by turn voice instructions. I found out the hard way by buying the product. I use iguidance ( http://www.inavcorp.com ) for my software and am pretty happy with it, and use a Holux receiver (do a yahoo search and you will find it is quite a popular GPS manufacturer and are fairly inexpensive) via bluetooth to my UTStarcom PPC 6700. Both products should work with your iPAQ. Recently, I have been playing around with Yahoo oneSearch which has mapping software as part of the package, you will still need a GPS receiver but in this instance you will need a broadband cellular connection or wifi connection, as your iPAQ is only a PDA this may not be a practical solution. Hope this helps.
